Ulta Haul 4/14/14 & Sephora Haul 4/15/14

Hi folks!  This post is all about the newest products I have added to my collection.  I have already fallen in love with a few of them and had a not so great experience with one.  Of course, I will share the pros and cons of what I have tried (so far) with you all.  Let's get started.

From my local Ulta, I picked up the It Cosmetics My Sculpted Face palette for contouring and highlighting.  This is one of the products I am completely in love with.  The powders are so soft and finely milled.  They blend out so effortlessly but not to where they disappear.  The pigmentation is fantastic.  This is just an all-around great product.  For those of  you who don't already have this, go out and get it if it appeals to you.  You won't regret it.  The Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Eye Shadow Palette, which includes 10 colors and a dual-ended brush, came home with me, too.  Next (I went on a little bit of a spree with Urban Decay products), another product that I am loving, is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked2.  It is a long-wearing lip color that doesn't dry out my lips and has just the right amount of color so that my lips won't look washed out or pale.  I do recommend this product, as well.  I picked up Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Ether, Urban Decay Chill Cooling And Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray, and Urban Decay eyeshadows in Scratch, Freelove, X, Abc Gum and Maui Wowie.  Ether is your typical great eye liner.  It went on smooth, didn't tug or drag, lasted all day and has fantastic pigmentation.  It didn't disappoint.  The color was unique to my collection.  The Chill spray is also something I have found to be quite handy.  It does help your makeup look freshly applied all day.  I haven't felt the actual chilled sensation on my skin, though.  With the purchase, I received samples of Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet and Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.  The Velvet Pencil was my problem child.  I have used it once, and honestly, I am very hesitant to use it again.  It had a very dry consistency and did not apply smoothly.  I had to go over the lash line a few times to get even color consistency.  Also, the product had a very strange side effect, for lack of a better phrase.  Pieces of it rolled off on my face as I was applying it.  I could see the pieces, which were string-like in appearance, on the tip.  The more I used it to try and get decent color, the more fell on my face.  It was not fun to use this and I highly discourage you from purchasing this product without some major reformulation.  (Urban Decay, you have some work to do with this one.)

Next up is my final haul of the Sephora VIB Rouge sale.  I picked up 2 Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencils in Brunette.  I can't have too many of those, especially at a discount.  It is great and if you haven't tried it, you definitely should.  I received the Peter Thomas Roth Best Face Forward 500 pt Beauty Insider reward.  I chose the Stila Garden of Glamour Makeup Set which includes: 5-color eye shadow palette, Peony Convertible Color Lip & Cheek Cream, Damsel Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner, and Banana Berry Lip Glaze.  Also, I selected the NARS Narsissist Eyeshadow Palette.  NARS eyeshadows are really soft and highly pigmented.  Feel free to test them on your next trip.  I really like them.  The next product, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal, was something I had been hunting for quite awhile.  I had, at one point, ordered it through the Becca website, but they later informed me it was back-ordered until July.  The day after I was informed, I cancelled the order and had requested Sephora inform me of when more were in stock.  The very next day, I received the e-mail saying the item was in-stock.  I checked out quicker than quick.  Along with all those items, I received Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lipstick in VIB Rouge and Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Lilac, which are both now exclusively available for VIB Rouge members. The VIB Rouge lipstick is great.  I did love the small versions I had been given when I became a VIB Rouge member.  I haven't tried the Lilac one, yet.

  1. Great haul! Oh no! Thanks for the heads-up on the UD eyeliner. I had been wanting to try it, but I'll steer clear. I always love looking at your hauls. I bet you have a nice makeup collection! :)

    1. Hi Lupe! I was really disappointed in that liner! I had such great expectations because of the positive experiences with their line. I checked out reviews on the Sephora website and there are others who had the same experience I did. I will say that other users had good reviews, as well. :/ My collection... I have been adding to my collection little by little and I am so happy with it. I enjoy organizing it and finding more room for new goodies to treasure. ;)
