Ode To Peacocks Look Feat. Best of 2015 Favorite Brands 1/21/16

Hi folks!  I wanted to talk about some of my most loved brands for 2015.  Some of these brands produced some really phenomenal products throughout the year.  Instead of going through every single product (and never finishing this blog post), I am opting to discuss brands as a whole (in no particular order) and chat about which products I feel/felt are extra-special.

We shall begin with Anastasia Beverly Hills, which should not be a surprise as, let's be frank, they make some of the most amazing items around.  From their famous brow products to the richly-pigmented eye shadows to the highlighters that will not quit, Anastasia does certainly have something for everyone.  The variety of colors, the forgiving price point and the commitment to excellence make this brand one of the best in the field.

Next up, we have Becca Cosmetics.  I have really loved their variety of Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed and Mineral Blushes and have collected nearly all colors in their collection.  I have, also, come to really enjoy their eye shadow palette and find myself reaching for it often.

Now, I have really enjoyed Guerlain foundation and powder.  This has been my favorite to wear.  I love the finish, the texture, the way it lays on my skin and I can't even feel it.  Plus, the Meteorites from their line are so gorgeous.  They add something special but not over-the-top to any look.  I plan to continue collecting them this year, as well.

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows are everything.  I haven't been let down by any of them.  There are so many colors and textures to choose from.  I love how they are just so easy to use as they're insanely pigmented, smooth and creamy.  Once I start using them, I find I have to tear myself away from them to use my other products.  They are that good.

Sephora High-Precision Eyeliner is the best liquid eyeliner I have used.  I became instantly obsessed with this eyeliner and haven't used any other since.  The matte finish gives any look a sophisticated touch and the price is definitely right.  I am already running dangerously low on my first pot and I'm happy I have a backup.  The only downside: I do wish the pot had more product in it, because I do feel I ran low a little too quickly.

Formula X has quickly become my favorite polish this year.  With the wide variety of colors  and textures, their seasonal collections, and high quality, this brand has become a staple in my life.  My favorite thing about them is their drying time is minimal.  I don't believe I have a quicker drying polish.  They polish does last and doesn't chip.  I use the entire line and I have not been disappointed.

If you follow me on Instagram, you will already know the story behind this makeup look.  For those that do not, it goes a little something like this: Every time I wear this particular shirt, I always want to wear bright and bold, colorful makeup but it just never works out quite like I envision, usually due to lack of time.  Today was different.  Today was the day and this look came together beautifully.  At least I think so.

At the same time, I was literally chatting with my daughter last night about the peacock decor in our living room and how I really need to re-visit the peacock look.  I am so in love with peacocks.  I think they're so majestic.  The vibrant colors and pattern just makes my heart happy.  I will re-visit peacock colors from time to time and incorporate them in looks.  For those that share in the colorful love, be sure to subscribe so you don't miss out.  On to the makeup...
