Hi guys! As you can tell from the title, this is a haul post. Before I get into that, I wanted to announce an upcoming collaboration with Marieta Alvarez. She and I will working on this new and exciting vision. We can't wait to show and share it with you all. So be sure to keep checking back for that. On to the haul...
I was able to order a few things that I had been keeping in my shopping bag for quite some time from Sephora. I ordered the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette, Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Kits in Hello Sunshine and Afternoon Delight, Formula X Mesmerize top coat and the Marc Jacobs Beauty Insider 1000 point reward. The Make Up For Ever Artist Palette is absolutely stunning in person, provided you enjoy shimmering sparkling colors. If you don't, then this palette simply isn't for you, to be frank. Each color is a true color, meaning what you see is exactly what you get. The colors apply and blend out easily without need for primer. Try these out if you get the chance. They are awesome! I had been wanting to add to my Lit collection and these new glitters definitely made the cut. They are super sparkly! I am dying to try them out. As soon as I do, be assured I will post the look for you guys to check out. The Formula X Mesmerize top coat is so amazing. It is a limited edition VIB Rouge exclusive product. (I do try and pick up any exclusive VIB Rouge products when such exist.) It provides a holographic effect to whatever polish you happen to be sporting. If you are VIB Rouge, your should definitely check this out as well. Lastly, I ordered the Marc Jacobs 1000 point reward. I had been eyeing this since I first saw availability on the website. It contains 2 full-sized lip products, which is a great reward. Lovemarc Lip Gel in Cabaret, which is described as having a "sleek shine finish and has a "3-D plumping agent," and Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl in Shooting Stars are included in this limited edition set. Cabaret, which has magnetized packaging, is now available for purchase individually, exclusively for VIB Rouge members. Shooting Stars is described as a "berry mauve with shimmer" on the Sephora website and is available for purchase individually, as well. These are my 1st beauty products from Marc Jacobs and I look forward to seeing if they are as great as I have heard.
My husband took me to Ulta. A girl can easily go on a shopping spree there, especially when Gloria is there to assist. I saw many, many things that I wanted but decided to take it easy on my poor hubby by not buying the entire store. I picked up Smashbox Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette, which includes shades Bare, Unadorned, Shell, Rustic, Oxidize, Topaz, Dark Cocoa and Ebony. I went crazy after swatching this in-store. The colors are true colors (what you see is what you get) and have great pigmentation. The packaging is awesome too! The design on top is modern and gives it a classy appearance. It is magnetized so when you close it, it basically completely closes on its own, which I found very impressive. I am definitely looking forward to creating a smoky look with these great colors. Next, I selected Lorac After-Glo Eye Shadow Palette, which comes with "8 vibrant matte and shimmer shadows plus 2 over-sized neutral shadows." Lorac is known for having extremely soft and pigmented shadows, which is why I didn't hesitate to pick it up. I absolutely love the packaging of this palette. The bright turquoise color of the plastic case and matching lettering on the mirror added something unique and vibrant. It is a thin palette and snaps shut. This product was the very last one in the store and was on display in a clear box high on a shelf. I lucked out in asking Gloria if I could purchase it because she said yes. Thank you Gloria! Then, when I was about to pay, I saw a display for Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette in Body and asked Gloria if there were any more of those for purchase or if I could once again buy the display. Luckily, this is a new product and there were still some available and Gloria was kind enough to grab it for me. This contains "12 sumptuous shades to illuminate your inner beauty" that can be applied either wet or dry and was "inspired by the spiritual notion that true beauty is revealed from within." The beautiful reflective packaging also has a magnetized closure. The only drawback is seeing fingerprints and smudges after contact with the palette. However, smudging makes no impact on my purchasing the palette. Gloria was kind enough to send me home with several great samples of products. They are Demalogica Power Resurfacing Peel After Care Kit, Prada Candy Florale Perfumed Body Soap (which smells divine), Phyto Full Volume shampoo and conditioner, and Sebastian Shaper (something I have always wanted to try but never have believe it or not).
Needless to say, I am really pleased with all the great products I was able to bring home. I am very grateful to Gloria at Ulta for helping me find these really great products. She is always so willing to help me and make me feel welcome in the store. I wish all the employees were as kind and helpful as she is. She is a great example to all.
