Crisis Averted Look 8/10/16

Happy hump day guys! This look... Oh you know, just a simple everyday look... I tried out a bunch of products with this look. One is a holiday palette that I may have used once since I bought it. I did use the palette for the majority of the color in this look. I had a bit of trouble with one of the shades I used. When I say a bit, I mean fading and creasing, which is just not going to work for me. When I thought I was done, I started taking pictures and that's when I saw the color I had initially chosen, Ooh la Orchid, (which was problematic upon application so it didn't surprise me that it just didn't work on it's own) had not performed the way it should. So instinctively, I reached for my trusty MAC eye shadow, but that didn't do the trick, not even a little. Then I opted for my tried and true, the highly-pigmented, one-of-a-kind Make Up For Ever No. 92. The heavens opened up and the dark cloud disappeared. This sealed the deal and really completed the look, making it one of my favorite combinations to date. The Coquet shade is actually really beautiful on it's own, but when I foiled it, whoa it was on a whole other level. For a moment, I was really worried that all my work had gone to the dogs, but Make Up For Ever saved the day. I so wish they would bring back this shade-- totally not over it.

Also, this was my first time trying out a liquid lipstick. This one didn't set and stayed soft throughout wear. I wasn't 100% crazy about the shade on its own, but with that little touch of purple, it really absorbed the color and turned into a really beautiful shade. I did see some settling in my lip lines and it did make me self-conscious enough to have to keep pressing my lips together to ensure the product stayed smooth. Eventually, I did get tired of doing that and I wiped it off.
